Dr. Michael Stamps
A proud Phoenician & University of Arizona Alum. After graduating from Medical School at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Dr. Stamps returned to Phoenix to complete both his internship and residency at Phoenix Hospitals Affiliated Pediatric Program. He joined the original “Paradise Valley Pediatrics” in 1985 and is our longest serving Pediatrician. He has extensive experience working with ADD/ADHD patients & continues to be recognized locally with awards such as: Top Doc 2016 from Phoenix Magazine.
Dr. Melissa Redleaf
Dr. Redleaf has been practicing pediatrics in Phoenix since 1994. Her special interests include adolescent medicine, children with special healthcare needs, ADHD, autism, and obesity treatment.
Dr. Kathryn Newby
Dr. Kathryn Newby joined Paradise Pediatrics in 2016. She is an Arizona native who completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Iowa and served as the Chief Resident for an additional year. Her medical interests include all fields of pediatric medicine from newborn care and breastfeeding to adolescent obesity and she is a strong vaccine advocate.
Dr. Vinay Kwatra
Dr. Vinay Kwatra completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He then worked in Chicago as a Pediatric Hospitalist and was the Associate Medical Director of the Urgent Care at Children's Memorial Hospital/Northwestern Memorial Hospital. After moving to Phoenix he worked in the Pediatric Emergency Department for another couple of years before joining Paradise Pediatrics in 2004. Dr. Kwatra's background with treating acutely sick children reinforced his commitment to preventative care. He is a strong believer in vaccination.
Dr. Sara Velazquez Kertz
Dr. Sara Velazquez Kertz graduated with honors from the University of Rochester, in New York, with a degree in Microbiology. She then went to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed an internship, and went on to pediatric residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been at Paradise Pediatrics ever since finishing her residency. Dr. Kertz's medical interests include asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, genetic disorders, and infectious diseases. She loves seeing children through early adulthood, and is very passionate about vaccinating them, protecting them, and supporting them however she can. She and her husband are raising two young boys.
Dr. Valerie Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs is an Arizona native who loves sunshine and the outdoors. After graduating Arizona State University, she went on to receive her medical degree as well as her PhD in Neuro-Immunology/Pharmacology from Dartmouth College. While there, she completed her motivational training at Columbia which she used to help develop an on-campus counseling program for college students struggling with addiction. She completed her residency at Boston Children's Hospital and stayed on as faculty there at Harvard Medical School where she worked full time in the Emergency Department. It was during this time that she also completed her medical acupuncture training. She then went on to study Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona. Her medical interests include nutrition, mental and behavior health and integrative practices. She incorporates an evidence-based integrative and holistic approach to all her visits.
